CAREY BELL
Attorney
Carey is a relentless advocate who works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome in every case. He has tried and won cases in both state and federal court. He also represents clients in appellate and postconviction proceedings.
Carey’s practice focuses on criminal defense, standing up for clients’ civil rights, and other civil litigation. On the criminal defense side, he has helped clients beat or resolve charges ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious felonies, including kidnapping, sexual assault, and white collar offenses. He also represents clients whose civil rights have been violated by the government, and he has secured significant damages awards for clients through settlements and trial. His advocacy in other civil matters has resulted in complete dismissals and favorable settlements.
Carey maintains an active pro bono practice. He has worked with the Innocence Project, served as an appointed advocate for a child in the foster care system, and represented members of the military through a veteran’s assistance program.
Before joining SLH, Carey clerked at the Colorado Court of Appeals, where he worked on a wide variety of criminal and civil appeals. For the four years prior to that, Carey represented numerous corporate clients as an associate at one of the country’s largest law firms, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath.
